May Hike at Piedras Pintadas
Join us for a Saturday morning hike at Piedras Pintadas in Escondido - there is abundant plant life and nice views of Lake Hodges (though the lake in the area is rather dry right now)! We'll meet at the staging area/parking lot, look for the fluffy white dog in the photo. The area is fairly exposed so we will start earlier at 9:30am to beat the heat (if any).This is generally an easy hike and, with a number of trail closures, we'll mostly be walking on a wider trail/road. There are however, a few areas with elevation and one spot that may require a tiny bit of climbing. The trail is sandy and rocky at parts, there is also some uneven terrain and wide gaps in the trail in a few spots. We expect the hike to last about 60 minutes at a leisurely pace, dogs and families are welcome!For those who can stay on, we'll head to a cafe for brunch afterwards, location TBD.
