HAA Speakers Bureau: Professor Willy Shih
The Harvard Clubs of Hawaii and Maui, joined by the Santa Barbara, San Diego and Southern California Clubs, will be hosting Harvard Business School Robert and Jane Cizik Professor of Management Practice Willy Shih for a timely virtual discussion on "Inflation and What’s Supply Chain Got to Do With It?" on Thursday 11/17 @12pm Hawaii/2pm Pacific/5pm Eastern. Professor Shih is part of the Technology and Operations Management Unit @HBS. He is an expert in manufacturing and product development, and a prolific author on industries ranging from semiconductors, information technology, consumer electronics, aerospace, transportation equipment, manufacturing processes and tools, and intellectual property.
Prior to joining HBS in 2007, Professor Shih spent 28 years at IBM, Digital Equipment, Silicon Graphics, Eastman Kodak, and Thomson SA. He worked in product development and manufacturing in a wide range of areas and have led the building of billion dollar revenue businesses in the United States, China, Ireland, Japan, and Mexico. Professor Shih is on the Board of Directors of Nextracker LLC, a maker of smart solar tracker solutions, and VEO Robotics, a firm that brings advanced computer vision, 3D sensing, and AI to industrial robots, enabling them to work collaboratively. He is a member of the Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and a Life Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Professor Shih holds two S.B. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.
