Dear HCSD Members:

April 11, 2018  the HCSD hosted an event for all the local seniors who were admitted to the Harvard Class of 2022.  We had a wonderful turnout with almost all the admitted seniors, their families and their interviewers in attendance.  Here is a photo of the students at the event.

_dsc3580Please join me on April 29th at the HCSD’s Annual Brunch at the San Diego Yacht Club.  The Yacht Club is a beautiful venue for brunch and we are looking forward to hearing Harvard Prof. Maria Tatar speak about "Words, Weapons and Beauty:  Fairy-Tale Heroines Then and Now.”  We will have reserved seating for Harvard Book Club Members and Schools Committee Members.

Tickets for the Annual Brunch are going fast and we have a limited number of tickets still available.

We are seeking donations in support of the Harvard Prize Book Award Ceremony on May 19 in Balboa Park sponsored by the HCSD.  Your donations will enable the HCSD to recognize outstanding high school juniors from San Diego and Imperial Counties through the Harvard Prize Book program. (Each book costs $30. An additional $20 covers the cost of the reception for one student and two guests.)  You can use this link to donate to the Harvard Prize Book Program:  https://hcsandiego.clubs.harvard.edu/store.html?show_item=1105.  If you know of any high schools that we should add to our Harvard Prize Book program, please e-mail me at presidenthcsd@roadrunner.com.

I look forward to seeing you at our Annual Brunch in a couple of weeks.

Loreen Collins

President, HCSD
