San Diego’s Early Admits to Harvard College Class of 2017

Twelve Local Students admitted Early Action and a BIG Thank You to our Schools Committee Interviewers

We are proud to announce that San Diego has 12 Early Admits to Harvard College for the Class of 2017.  4,850 applicants applied during the Early Action cycle.  895 were admitted from this pool.  For more information, please see the article in the Harvard Gazette.

The Board of the HCSD would like to thank Loreen Collins for stepping in as Schools Committee Chair this year.  Her service was called upon because our perennial chair, Jim Chenevey, had a son applying to Harvard.  We would also like to thank Emily Balmert for stepping up as Co-Chair to help coordinate the interviewing activities.

A big THANK YOU also to all the interviewers who participated in the Early Action round with 60+ applicants.  We expect to interview another 600 applicants from the San Diego region by the end of January -- so if you are interested in helping out, please contact Loreen at loreencollins@roadrunner.com.  We are ALWAYS looking for a few good interviewers!

Congratulations to our outstanding 12 students and their proud families.  We look forward to welcoming them into our local Harvard community at a brunch in their honor on January 13th.
