November 5, 2025 - Ivy+ special film screening of Wealth Untold

MIT Club of San Diego invites Ivy+ to a special film screening of Wealth Untold, directed and produced by MIT Alumni and MITCSD President Eladio Arvelo.

ABOUT THE FILM

In the small coastal haven of Belize lies the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that sustains over half the country’s population. Despite its protected status, the reef faces mounting threats from overfishing, oil exploration, invasive species, coastal development, and climate change. Wealth Untold offers a revealing look at the conservation efforts led by Belizean women, including scientists, artists, and policymakers, whose shared vision empowers local communities to thrive in harmony with the marine environment.

Wealth Untold is a powerful new documentary that is making its way through film festivals and conferences. The film has screened at the Belize International Film Festival (World Premiere, November 2024), the United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice, France (International Premiere, June 2025), the Newport Beach Film Festival (North American Premiere, October 2025), and the Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute Conference (South American Premiere, October 2025).
