From the President...

March 1, 2021

Dear Fellow Harvard Alumni, Current Harvard undergraduates and Parents of Current Harvard Undergraduates,

I can't believe that I have been President of HCSD for seven years.  I have really enjoyed meeting many of you during my time on the HCSD Board.  I think the highlight of my time on the Board was introducing Harvard President Larry Bacow at an event in San Diego.  My two favorite annual events, our annual meeting and our Prize Book presentation, were canceled last year and it looks like they will be canceled this year as well.  However even though we can't hold an award ceremony, we plan on awarding Harvard Prize Books to a number of outstanding local high school students in May.

If you have not done so, I encourage you to join the Club.  Your membership fees go to help support our Club, our Schools Committee and Prize Book Committee activities, and our summer internship program.  Membership is easy - to renew your Club Membership or become a new Club Member, just click the "JOIN" link under the Membership tab on the menu bar above.

I am counting on your continued involvement to help the Club thrive and grow.  Please take advantage of the many opportunities the Club has to offer members by joining today!  I would love to have you work alongside us on our goals of serving Harvard, holding interesting events for the Harvard community in the Greater San Diego Area and expanding our community outreach activities.  I am proud to be part of this community, and I look forward to seeing you soon at one of our upcoming Club events.

Please contact me at presidenthcsd@roadrunner.com with your ideas and suggestions for future Club events or you would like to help with the Schools or Prize Book Committees or help the Club in any other capacity.

I look forward to seeing everyone in person again as soon as possible.

For now, see you soon on Zoom and stay safe,

Loreen Collins, President

Harvard Club of San Diego
