CELEBRATE BLOOMSDAY ON MONDAY, JUNE 17th 

 

The Ledden Luncheon Committee invites interested staff, faculty, spouses, and community friends to celebrate James Joyce’s novel, Ulysses, and the memory of Pat Ledden, on June 17th.

What:  A free lunch and Joycean jollification 

WhereFaculty Club Lounge at UCSD (see directions and map below)

When:  Noon to 2:00 pm, June 17, 2019

Program:  Bonnie Kime Scott, Professor and Chair emerita of Women’s Studies at SDSU and former member of the International Joyce Committee will speak on “Exploring Gender in Joyce (#MeToo in 1904?)”. Pianists Irving Flores and Ariadna Saenz will render “Love’s Old Sweet Song”. Surprise guests will appear. There will be gorgonzola, burgundy, and Guinness. We’ll have some fun.

Space is limited to 75 persons, so RSVP early, and no later than 5PM on June 13, to ljoy@ucsd.edu.

Heading South on I-5

Take I-5 south to the Genesee Avenue exit.
Turn right on Genesee.
At the third light, turn left on North Torrey Pines Rd.
At the sixth light, turn left onto the UCSD campus. (The street sign reads: Scholars Drive / UCSD.)
Proceed on Scholars Drive through 2 stop signs (it will turn into Muir Lane). You will see parking lot #206 on your right.
The Faculty Club will be on your left.

Heading North on I-5

Take I-5 north to the La Jolla Village Drive exit and turn left at the end of the exit ramp.
Follow La Jolla Village Drive through several lights.
Continue as La Jolla Village Drive turns into North Torrey Pines Road.
Turn right at light onto La Jolla Shores Drive.
Make an immediate left onto Scholars Drive.
Follow Scholars Drive through 2 stop signs (it will turn into Muir Lane). You will see parking lot #206 on your right.

Where to park

The Faculty Club is adjacent to campus parking lot P206 which contains 50 Club spaces. Parking permits are required during weekdays and complimentary on Saturdays and Sundays. Members and their guests attending lunch or scheduled events may obtain permits to park in Club spaces. For your guests’ convenience, we can arrange guaranteed parking for events being held at the Club (additional charges apply).

Parking rates

Day: $2.00 for first 3 hours; $1.00 for each additional hour.
