The Oxford and Cambridge Alumni Societies invite you to join us on Saturday, April 14th, for a trip to the Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico's premier wine-growing region. Baja California's Valle de Guadalupe produces roughly 90% of all the wine that comes from Mexico today. The "Guadalupe Valley" has a rich history - the region has been producing wine since the 1700's and is, in fact, one of the oldest wine-growing regions in all the Americas. After colonization by the Spaniards, settlers from other European countries such as Italy and Russia arrived with their own unique grape varieties and planted them in the rich soil of the Valle de Guadalupe. Some of the most popular wines of the region include Chenin Blanc, Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Zinfandel, Malbec and Barbera

After meeting at the Border at 9.00am we’ll board our luxury coach just south of the Border, and a brunch of Red and Green Chilaquiles with freshly squeezed orange juice will be served.  On arrival in the Valle we’ll visit Viña Garza for a tasting of 2 whites and 4 reds, then Emeve Wines for 3 reds. Our stay in the Valle will culminate with a very special, multi-course, late-lunch/early dinner, Mexican-family style, at Finca Altozano.

After a wonderful day in the Valle de Guadalupe we’ll return to the Border between 6.00 and 7.00pm, depending upon how long we linger at Finca Altozano and traffic getting back.

There are only a small number of tickets available so EARLY REGISTATION HERE is highly recommended. The fee is $130 per person which includes transportation, brunch, tip for the driver, 2 winery visits and luncheon (but not drinks at lunch). A valid passport will be required to make the trip.  If tickets are sold out please contact Martin Dalgleish to be put on the Waiting List.

We do hope that you’ll join us for this very special opportunity.
