Looking for a few good interviewers!
Help HCSD interview applicants to Harvard College
Currently, over 550 San Diego area high school students are applying for admission to Harvard College. Alumni interviews are often the first and only experience that these talented young people will have with the University. We need more alumni volunteers to give each applicant a positive "Harvard" experience.
January Batch days are January 13 at Barrio Logan, January 21 at UCSD Price Center, and January 28 at Scripps Green Hospital.
If you are already on the interviewer list, see below for more details. If you are interested in starting your participation (or renewing), please email email@example.com
Dear Harvard Club of San Diego Schools Committee Member,
It's Harvard College interviewing season again. After a great 2016-17 where we helped 27 San Diego area students gain acceptance to Harvard, Jim and Loreen are taking a year off while their children apply to college. The new co-chairs Amy and Tim would appreciate everyone's help again this year in order to interview all 500+ expected applicants to Harvard this spring.
Everyone in the Harvard Club of San Diego as well as the Admissions Office appreciates and values your vital participation in the interviewing process. The alumni interview is often the first and only experience that these talented young people will have with the University. We need everyone's participation to give each and every applicant a positive "Harvard" experience.
There are five easy ways to participate:
- Participate in the regular action batch day at Barrio Logan College Institute
Saturday, January 13th from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
- Participate in the regular action batch day at UCSD Price Center
Sunday, January 21st from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
- Participate in the regular action batch day at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla
Sunday, January 28th, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Conduct Separate Interviews with a slate of candidates (generally 3 or 4) at a place and time determined by you and your candidates.
- Some combination of the above.
The batch days are a great way to knock out several interviews for Harvard in a single afternoon and get a chance to meet other Schools Committee members in the process. Please reply to this email to indicate your preferences. Also, please complete this year's Interviewer Eligibility Form on the Harvard College Alumni Interviewing Portal if you have not already done so.
For those of you thinking about interviewing for the first time, those who have usually done separate interviews, or those wishing to connect with other interviewers again (P.S. that’s all of you!) we’d like to invite you to a dessert reception on Monday, January 8th in Rancho Bernardo at 7:30 p.m. Please reply to this email if you would like to attend and directions will be sent to you.
Thank you in advance for your commitment to Harvard.
Tim Feng and Amy Sewick
