Celebrate Bloomsday on June 16th!

Share your love of Ulysses and James Joyce with fellow HCSD members at UCSD

The Ledden Luncheon Committee of UCSD invites HCSD members and friends to celebrate James Joyce’s novel, Ulysses, and the memory of Pat Ledden, on June 16th, the day in 1904 when all of the action in Ulysses occurs.

Format: No featured speaker; rather, we ask you to bring a copy of Ulysses, the Gabler Edition, if possible. Each table will be assigned a chapter or two to scan during lunch, and will be asked to give a 2-minute summary of the action of those chapters, and to present a word, a phrase, or interesting paragraph from the chapter. There will be Guinness, gorgonzola, a live report from Dublin, and “Love’s Old Sweet Song”. We’ll have some fun.

Space is limited to ~80 persons, so RSVP early, by 4 p.m. on June 13, to Lilia Huato, lhuato@ucsd.edu, or 858-534-0876.
