World Down Syndrome Day

A great time had by all at the Ninth Annual World Down Syndrome Day!

On Saturday, March 21st a group of Harvard alumni volunteered at the Arc of San Diego to assist with the various activities that were part of World Down Syndrome Day.  A great time was had by all as we interacted with the children (many under 10 years of age) and family members.  There was plenty of food, live entertainment, games and crafts for those present.  Various arms of law enforcement were also volunteering their time and donations of stuffed animals (part of which was captured in the attached photo with a couple of Harvard alumni).  Both groups were presented with certificates of appreciation by Senator Joel Anderson of the Thirty-eighth District.  It was also nice to see the many children's books donated with parents having the opportunity to select as many as they would like with such a surplus.

It's hard to say who walked away with more enjoyment from the day - the various volunteers, family members or children.  Thank you to all who joined us on the 21st to make the day such a huge success.  We look forward to seeing both familiar and new faces with the various community service events that we have coming up as part of Harvard's Global Month of Service.
