Alumni Reading of the Bard's THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR with appropriate headdresses and background scenery

About this Event

While we're still not able to attend a live performance of Shakespeare at the Old Globe, we'll continue our online readings of some of the Bard's wonderful plays. This time it will be one of his lesser performed Comedies, The Merry Wives of Windsor. There are a total of 22 speaking parts in The Merry Wives .., of which 8 can be considered main characters.  The other 14 roles may be split into 7 assemblies of minor roles. So we’ll need at least  15 readers.

Please register asap for a chance to read either a main part or an assembly of minor parts, as registration must close Saturday  March 13th to give ourselves time to organized.  Once registration has closed, we'll pull registrant's names out of a hat and assign parts.

If you are planning to enter the lottery for a reading ticket, please be prepared to display background scenery** (that we'll provide) behind your image on the Zoom meeting and to wear some appropriate headgear to add realism to the performance.

If you would prefer just to watch the "performance" rather than read, please register for a Viewing Ticket.

** To display background scenery you'll typically need to be using a computer with an i5 central processor (CPU) or a fairly modern iPad. If you need help with this please email Brian Beeston at bepbeeston@gmail.com.
