Be an Admissions Interviewer or Attend a College Fair

The Harvard Schools Committee
Co-Chairs:  Amy Sewick AB '00, Loreen Collins AB '82, Julia Cai AB '06 and Timothy Feng AB '89.

The Schools Committee works with the Harvard College Office of Admissions and Financial Aid to recruit and evaluate the most promising high school students from San Diego and Imperial Counties. Each year volunteers interview 500+ high school seniors. The input of alumni interviewers is a critical component of the Harvard application process. Through one-to-one contact, interviewers gauge the applicant's personal qualities and offer answers to questions about Harvard, Cambridge-Boston, and college.

As part of the recruiting responsibilities, the Schools Committee hosts two annual receptions - one for the Early Action admits in the winter and another for all accepted students in the spring.  We also host a picnic to send off the rising freshman and the upperclassmen at the end of the summer.

Members of the Schools Committee attend local college fairs on behalf of Harvard.  In the last few years, alumni have attended fairs in Temecula, Oceanside, San Marcos, Poway, Escondido and Del Mar.
