Serving Harvard

The Harvard Club of San Diego (HCSD) offers diverse programming to create continuing connections throughout the year with the University.

High School Student Outreach

HCSD members spend time with high school students throughout the region informing them about generous scholarship programs which are a part of the admissions process.  The Schools Committee interviews hundreds of students annually and the Book Prize Committee identifies outstanding high school juniors.  In addition, as rising freshman get ready to depart for Cambridge, HCSD holds a “Leaving Left Coast” picnic for students and their families.

Connections with Harvard Faculty

At the HCSD Annual dinner, alumni enjoy interacting with a Harvard professor.

Current Undergraduates

Current undergraduates are invited to become club members for free.  The Club is setting up a summer internship program for an undergraduate to gain experience in a public service not-for-profit agency, through the Summer Community Service Felowship (SCSF).

Harvard-Yale Game

Alumni enjoy cheering on The Crimson each November for The Game, gathering in a friendly way with our Yale friends.

During Harvard’s Global Month of Service the HCSD joins in to sponsor community service projects.  Among the service activities are staffing a food bank, serving meals at a homeless shelter, and picking fruit to donate to needy families.
